I’ve been reading your post on notes written in manuscripts by medieval monks. What was the original-language (presumably Latin) text of the one you translated as ”Oh d fuckin abbot”?

Marginalia is often in Latin like the rest of the text, but depending on the person doing the writing they do sometimes just write it in their own language (in this case, Old English). Some scholars think the “d” stands for “damned” because after all, the guy was still working for monks, so it would make sense to censor that. But some things honestly don’t need a translation.
